Recent Events like My Trouble with Laptop , Mid-term Exams in College , Lab Files , Learning Bit JAVA , and thanks to pending episodes of Mr. Robot has set me behind my schedule by almost one week in learning so just few hours ago I completed my notes and online course at Python from Code Academy [my study partner completed it a week ago ]..wrote and scheduled posts ...Revised Qt framework for upcoming project and planned my Schedule for October because of Cultural Fest in college there won't be any lectures and homework to do so
Also Planning how to improve my posts and Posts more frequent updates ...
Last to last week Finally my Hard Drive Failed which i wasn't expecting this soon as the Bad sector Reallocation count as well below the Threshold Value but it just happened All of sudden when system froze and when i tired to reboot it kept on freezing without booting up ..Even Ubuntu Didn't boot up because of the Disk Failure
Left with no option I rushed to the market and got Samsung EVO 850 ssd 250 gb to replace my HDD....(SSD are really expensive in comparison to HDD ) After which the real trouble started when the system Image I created in windows didn't load up in SSD due to its smaller size(although the size of image was still smaller than ssd size) so after 2 DAYS of multiple time swapping of in and out of ssd and trying to bring back my old HDD to life by re-writing the drive with its own image using external adapter and then Migrating my OS along with software's to SSD . I was Finally Back up and running on my PC
Although still trying to figure out how to keep up with 250 gb space on SSD. ...So after a big hole in my pocket in buying ssd and days of troubleshooting the System has speed up phenomenally with power up to launching chrome in 25 sec and all apps launching withing 2-3 seconds even Visual Studio !! Love the new Speed and performance improvement
Everything was up and running fine until last Tuesday when my Laptop Suddenly froze while i was working on some C# application in Visual Studio . I waited for about 4-5 minutes for system to become responsive again as I couldn't power it down as i had unsaved work in background ..Since it was around 3:00 AM in midnight so i thought that this might due to background windows 10 update being installed automatically (default timings are between 3-4 AM in most of Windows Devices)
After waiting for a little longer the system did became responsive again but the performance was so sluggish that i had to call it a day and shutdown the system .
The Next Day when I booted up the PC the Thinkpad Diagnostic gave a beep during the error and when I ran the Diagnostics i showed that the S.M.A.R.T status had Failed ...WHAT ..it had been only two years since i got that HDD and my Disk is Failing now ..Back in Windows when i Ran Crystal Disk Info I got this result
Seeing that my Drive had got some bad sectors ...I immediately backed up all my drive and Data ..and created an Windows Image in case the drive fails completely (took about 8 Hours to complete the process ) and did some search online ..turns out sooner or later i have to get my Drive replaced in case the Bad Sector Count Increases ..(Will Upgrade to SSD :D ) but seeing the Cost of SSD I'm holding back the replace and taking the chance to run the Drive until the Bad Sector count reaches 2-3 or the system crash/freeze become intolerable ...So lets see how long the drive will work properly .
PS : Upgrading to SSD will be literally like driving a Car on Nitro All the time ..pretty excited about ..if the upgrade happens
The past week was all filled with all pages ..and pages of assignment from college as our Mid Semester Exams are nearing so all our subject teachers gave us assignment altogether to be submitted by week end .As soon as i finished of with the college work the first thing I had on my todoist to complete was getting started with Amazon Web Service , I have been been using Microsoft Azure for a while for website hosting and online database for my project but always wanted to try out using AWS being one of the biggest Cloud Provider .
As novice at AWS I planned to start on by simply hosting a simple static web page online, while and Googling about it I came across this Tutorial video and found it perfect to start with ..
After Just one View of the tutorial I was up and running my static website in Amazon S3 with me setting manual permission of file settings rather than using the script .
Having tried out Simple website Hosting On Both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Service ..I think that for First time Users Azure is more easier and fun to use than AWS as when I used it,
I managed to setup my website without any need for a video tutorial .
Compering on the Interface of Both AWS and Azure , Azure is more colorfully and Rich in interface with its Blade Style GUI which comes on the cost of bit heavy webpage . AWS on the other hand has a Classic old GUI .which you generally find at other Cloud software's and hosting solution but is fast to load in case if you have a slow Bandwidth or an old out-dated browser .
Will be using out Both Azure an AWS in upcoming both for same purpose to check out which helps me better .
As per my Schedule with my friend the target we set for day one for starting of with python was that we would complete 10% of the course percentage at the Code Academy , since the code academy only has instructions about the code and not about the compiler setup and installation i turned to on of my favorite youtubers for instructions and found this Getting started with python video more than sufficient of what i needed to begin with
It has been a while I while i have
been planning to learn a new language Like python and Java ,
being already familiar and comfortable to code in C++ , C# and
using Qt framework for c++ and Visual Studio and Xamrin for C# . I
thought of Learning Java as it was quite popular among my peers as almost
majority of them had learnt Java in the summer break and were now working on
android app development using it , so my first thought was to learn java and
switch to android studio since Xamrin was giving me a hard time due to some
error in the libraries which i messed up myself while making in it .
So when the college started and I
sat down to give a start to java i found it very much similar to c# in terms of
syntax and implementation but was lot boring than c# as being a fan of C
and it its children languages i just didn't like java from the very beginning
.
With many discussions on which
language to start ahead which could help me in scripting in cloud and in
productivity my friend Sheryl suggested to start with python . I myself
had also heard about it being quite popular and powerful in the market and it
being replacing c++ in K12 education .So In the coming week ...ie from
today I will be Starting with Python (fresh Start) , and Cloud ( Azure
and Amazon ) along with continuing my work on Xamrin side by
side (to make my Kick-ass App ideas a reality in android ) and Qt for
Application Development for our Semester project with my friend Soham .
Will be blogging about my progress
so that i can measure my output and see where i can fine tune my work
efficiency .
So Eyes all set on the target
....and 1..2...3...GO
With the Windows 10 Anniversary update
coming this week and the current version giving me a hard time with lots of
bugs like (frame freeze in the Movie Player when resized, Sudden Wi-Fi loss due
to DHCP client crash and delay in reading my fingerprint during login by
windows Hello ) . I finally had a chance tofix all this in one go with the Latest
Redstone update.
As I began to
download the update (the offline setup as i don't trust my internet connection
for a direct live update: P) It came to my thought that apart from my
regular backup updates inside Windows ,I should create a system image as a last
restore option as I couldn't risk losing all my progress on my Internship
Project .So i started the windows image tool which ran for about a minute or so
but kept crashing due to some conflict in Windows Shadow Copy Function 0x8078012D
With
1 hour of downloading 2 hours of installation and next 2 hours in system maintenance
and Disk Defragment I was back On my system that was much faster ,stable , and better in interface ( although the
fingerprint reader completely stopped working after the update ). Looking
Forward to update my Linux Ubuntu to 16.04 LTS update as soon as my Internship
Project is complete.
Greetings and Welcome to all my present and future Visitors. Well, this is my first personal blog. I'm not quite sure as to what I'm supposed to put up, overall it will be about my projects , tech review & troubleshooting so let's see what I post up next . -Harshit Yadav
